Many motors can be used for Pike electro models.
Here are a few examples:

F5J Pike Perfect
Motor and gear Mega Acn F5J 2kw 6:1
battery Turnigy nano-tech 2200mhA 45 - 90 C
controler Castle
PHOENIX ICE LITE 150 or PHOENIX125  (set to unlimited amperage)
propeler RF 17 x 13
Apx. 170A at max and 30m/s climb

1)

6x 1700CP pushed
controller 80-100A
apx 6m/s climb

3)
Hacker B50 7S with 6,7:1 gear
20x11 prop
10x 1700CP pushed
controller 100-150A
apx 12m/s climb

4)

apx 8m/s climb

5)
Hacker B50-10S, 6.7:1,
18x11 prop
18xCP1300
apx ? climb

6)
Kontronik Drive Set 502 (Fun 500-27 5,2:1)
17x10'' prop
10 cells (Sanyo 1950 AUP NiMh pushed and matched)
controller 40-50A

7)
Kontronik Drive Set 502 (Fun 500-27 5,2:1)
17x10'' prop
10 xCP1700
controller 70-100A

8)
Electronic model Cyclon Elite 10

9)
Equipment used by Guillaume Bourely (Pike Superior carbon and Pike Brio carbon):
The propeller is RFM 14.5x10 Slim.
Motor is an Electronic Model Elios 25 geared 3.7/1
Controller Flash 40/60A
2 packs of TP 3S 2100 gen2 (draws 41A and can take 60A)
Also used with 10 cell CP1700 (37A)
Receiver Shulze 835w
Rx power: SBec (power from the battery)
All up weight 2540g
This setup gives apx 8-9 climbs to thermal altitude.
Suggested changes that can be made:
The propeller can be slightly bigger so that the current comes up to 55-60A. This will give faster climbs.

Latest tests (11/05) with
3s2p Thunder Power 4200mAh Pro Lite

10)
Equipment used by Jo Grini (Pike Superior carbon and Pike Brio carbon):
The propeller is 18x11
Motor is an
Hacker B50 6S with 6,7:1 gear (preferred the 7S version)
10 cells CP1700 that is zapped and matched (setup draws 100-120A).
Kontronik FAI controller that can take 120A
Also used 6 cells with lower climb rate but also lower all up weight (85A).
Receiver Shulze 835w (40cm antenna coming out of rudder)
RX power: 4x700NiMh
All up weight Superior 2800g. Brio 2650g
This setup (10cell) gives 10-12m/s climb (almost vertical) and 3-4 climbs to thermal altitude.
Suggested changes that can be made:
The propeller can be smaller (14x10, 15x10, etc) and the current will go down with still enough power to perform a nice climb. This gives the possibility to use a smaller controller. The current will be on a more efficient level and one would probably have more climbs. The preferred motor is the 7S version that can take even bigger propeller.

11)
Equipment used by Robert Burson (Pike Superior Carbon)
The propeller is 18x11 Aeronaut
Motor is an Neu 1509 with 6,7:1 gear
16 cells GP2200 that is zapped and matched.
Picture of fit HERE
TMM 16016-3S expert controller
Rx Battery is a four cell Nexcell AAA 800mah

This setup (16cell) gives extreme climb or as Robert says:
"16cells has no subsititue, not even a Porsche"
All up weight is apx 100oz (2970g).

12)
Cheap example:
AXI 2820/10 outrunner
Aeronaut 14x8 (44A)
3S Lipo that takes 50A
50A controller
Apx 3.8m/s climb

Other:

Both Kontronik, Hacker, and many others have competition drives that will give a few more % of thrust or lighter. But this should maybe be sold complete with motor/controller/prop/battery from a dealer that can tell the customer what to buy.
